As the 2021 calendar year comes to a close I would like to thank the entire community for their patience, resilience, and dedication to prioritizing the student learning experience throughout the first semester.

In a PYP classroom at Tesla, the classroom environment is student-centered where the teacher’s role has changed to being a coordinator of learning activity.

The learning environment being created by our teachers still provides the challenges necessary for the students to inquire, discover, and demonstrate their understanding.

It has been a challenging year and through all the changes and adjustments, everyone has had a great attitude and continued our focus on creating the best possible learning experience for our students.

MOET provides the “What” students will learn. International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP) provides a framework for “How” students will learn. The goal is to develop the attributes of a lifelong learner that is outlined in the IB Learner Profile.

We are going to create a digital presentation over the next couple of weeks to share as much information as we can about the classroom experience.

During this period of online learning, we will do our best to ensure the students receive an engaging, relevant learning experience and a school schedule that provides flexibility for all the families in the Tesla community.

Tesla would like to invite Parents to the virtual talk with the experts on the topic “It’s never too early to prepare your child for university”.

At the core of the PYP logo, the foundation for the entire IB program is the word “Agency”.

At Tesla, we embrace the idea that all students are developing multiple languages and utilize instructional practices to maximize the prior knowledge and skills of every learner.

Students are encouraged to use both languages in their journey to discover new concepts and skills while at the same time expected to demonstrate their understanding in English at the conclusion of each unit of inquiry.

Tesla is in the process of a transition and it is important that we ensure that every stakeholder understands what this means to student learning and development.
